Happy students in an international school
ProtectMyMailProtected Schools

An international ProtectMyMail initiative

Free email protection for schools and their students.

Phishing, fake fee requests and emails pretending to be the school are a daily problem. We sponsor ProtectMyMail for schools and universities - for all staff and students, at no cost.

PROTECTEDSCHOOLS

1 · Why email protection matters

Protecting students and staff in an AI-driven digital world

Recent studies from 2026 indicate that more than 75% of cyberattacks involve email, making it one of the most common channels used by cybercriminals to deceive people and gain access to sensitive information. As email remains essential to our personal and professional lives, protecting our inboxes has never been more important. Stronger email security is no longer optional - it is a necessity.

At the same time, artificial intelligence (AI) is making it easier for scammers and cybercriminals to create highly convincing emails that imitate real people, organizations and trusted institutions. These messages can be increasingly difficult to distinguish from legitimate communications, putting students, teachers and administrative staff at greater risk of phishing, identity theft and online fraud.

Many people assume that their email is adequately protected by antivirus software. However, while antivirus protection remains important, it may not be enough to identify sophisticated phishing attempts, fraudulent senders or deceptive links before users interact with them. Email security requires an additional layer of protection that addresses these specific risks.

An extra layer that antivirus cannot give you

ProtectMyMail® adds an extra layer of email protection through encryption, sender verification and the identification of potentially harmful links and attachments.

It helps users protect their communication, verify who is sending an email and make more informed decisions about the messages they receive - while continuing to use their existing email address and inbox.

“I hardly use email, so I don’t need protection.”

But we all rely on email for important messages from schools, banks and insurance companies, as well as password resets and access to services like Netflix. Even if we rarely send emails, our digital lives depend on them - making email protection essential.

Access to all of these runs through your email

  • Apple ID
  • Netflix
  • Your bank
  • Your school
  • Password resets

By introducing ProtectMyMail® in schools and universities, we can help create a safer digital learning environment while teaching students and staff practical email security habits. These skills can benefit them not only throughout their education, but also in their future personal and professional lives. Our goal is to make better email security accessible, practical and part of everyday digital education.

2 · Our offer to schools & universities

Free for the whole school community

ProtectMyMail normally costs US$5 per month per user. Under the “School Concept”, we want to offer ProtectMyMail free of charge to participating schools and universities, including all staff and students, each with one email address. The goal is to make email protection accessible to the entire school community, rather than leaving it to individuals to decide whether to use it. We aim to work with schools, colleges and universities worldwide. Where students are under 18, participation is arranged with the appropriate parent or guardian consent.

No subscription cost for participating staff and students, including one email.

  • A stronger security culture

Encourage better email protection habits across the whole school community.

  • Practical digital education

Help students understand protecting their communications and verifying senders.

  • Easy onboarding

The school distributes a unique registration code; eligible staff and students sign up for free.

  • Long-term impact

Students keep the skills and security habits they develop as they move into higher education and professional life.

3 · How the concept works

One code, then everyday protection

The school introduces ProtectMyMail to its staff and students and encourages everyone to register using the school’s unique free sign-up code. Once registered, users can use ProtectMyMail with their existing email accounts, subject to the product’s supported email services and setup requirements. Schools can also invite students’ families to benefit from ProtectMyMail: while students and staff receive free access through the school program, family members can choose to subscribe privately to extend the same protection to their own inboxes. To help raise awareness of digital safety, schools and participating students can include a short message in their emails.

These footers introduce ProtectMyMail to people who receive emails from the school or its students, helping raise awareness beyond the immediate school community.

4 · Creating a lasting impact

Habits that last a lifetime

The “School Concept” is about more than providing free software. It is about making email protection a normal part of everyday digital communication. By giving students and staff access to ProtectMyMail, schools can help build awareness of email security while introducing a tool they can continue to use beyond their education. As students communicate with people outside the school, they can also introduce ProtectMyMail to friends, family members and future colleagues. This creates an opportunity for the initiative to reach a much wider audience over time. Our vision is simple: make better email protection accessible to the next generation and help establish safer email habits that last a lifetime.

5 · Next steps

Explore the concept with us

We invite interested international schools, colleges and universities to explore the concept with us. Together, we can agree on the onboarding process, school registration code, communication materials and email footer implementation. The objective is to make participation straightforward for the institution and its community, while helping students and staff take a practical step towards better email protection.

Sponsors and partners in a modern business-school atrium

6 · Sponsored digital safety & education initiative

A sponsored model for global impact

ProtectMyMail aims to make its email protection system available to schools and universities worldwide free of charge to students and staff. However, funding a global initiative of this scale represents a significant financial challenge. To establish a sustainable model, we propose starting with a pilot program at international business schools with approximately 40,000 students and staff.

  • 40,000

students & staff in the first pilot

  • 50%

of the subscription covered by sponsors

  • US$2.50

per user / month (sponsored half)

  • US$600k

per year for 40,000 users (US$50k / month)

ProtectMyMail would provide access free of charge to the participating institution and its users, while we seek sponsors and funding partners to cover 50% of the subscription cost. With a monthly cost of just US$2.50 per user, the initiative offers an affordable way to strengthen email security while promoting greater awareness of digital threats.

For a school community of 40,000 users, covering 50% of the subscription cost would require approximately US$50,000 per month, or US$600,000 per year, assuming the full subscription price is US$5 per user per month. The remaining costs would be supported by ProtectMyMail and its partners as part of the initiative, subject to the final funding structure.

How the sponsorship model works

The concept is straightforward: ProtectMyMail makes its email protection system available to participating schools, staff and students at no charge to them, while companies, foundations, cybersecurity organizations, charitable institutions and government programs help finance the initiative.

This creates an opportunity for sponsors and funding partners to contribute directly to a safer digital learning environment. By supporting the program, they can demonstrate their commitment to cybersecurity, digital education and social responsibility.

Depending on the funding arrangement, corporate sponsors may receive appropriate brand recognition for their contribution. Foundations, charities and public-sector funders may instead support the initiative based on its educational and social impact, without any expectation of advertising or commercial exposure.

A scalable model for global impact

Starting with one international business school would provide a practical foundation for demonstrating the value of the initiative, developing the sponsorship model and building relationships with potential funding partners.

Once established, the program could be expanded to additional schools and universities worldwide, helping more students and educators develop safer email habits and better understand the risks of phishing, impersonation and other AI-assisted cyber threats.

The long-term vision is to make stronger email protection accessible to educational institutions worldwide - regardless of their financial resources - while helping prepare the next generation for a safer digital future.
